Flu Shots are still available.
Call 419-334-6367 to schedule your appointment today.

All flu clinics are open to anyone 6  months and older, with no restrictions.  Cost is $20.00 or Medicare and Medicaid are accepted.

While a flu shot is recommended for all persons over 6 months of age, the following are considered high-risk and should make getting a flu vaccine a priority:

The Centers for Disease Control recommend the influenza vaccine for:

1. People at high risk for complications from flu, including:
*Children aged six (6) months until their 5th birthday.
       *Pregnant women.
*People fifty (50) years of age and older.
*People of any age with chronic medical condition.
*People who live in nursing homes and other long term care facilities.

2. People who live with or care for those at high risk for complications from flu including:
*Household contacts of persons at high risk for complications from the flu.
*Household contacts and out of home caregivers of children less than six (6) months of age.
       *Health care workers.

3. All persons, including school-aged children who want to reduce the risk of becoming ill with influenza or transmitting influenza to others.

Individuals attending the clinic should dress in layers, with short sleeves available for ease of vaccination; there will be no privacy. In addition to vaccination, the best ways to prevent the flu, and the spread of flu, are to wash your hands frequently, cover your cough, avoid crowded situations during peak flu season, and stay home if you are ill.

Cost of the vaccine is twenty ($20.00) dollars. Medicare and Medicaid will be accepted if cards are brought to the clinic. If you have a current driver’s license, please bring it, also.

Flu vaccines will be offered by the Sandusky County Health Department and Memorial Hospital HealthLink and Golden Threads Departments at their annual clinics.  Local physicians may also have the vaccine available.
